Congratulations to Professor Magid on publication of his new book!

Professor Shaul Magid and Distinguished Fellow in the Jewish Studies program at Dartmouth, has written a book titled 'The Necessity of Exile: Essays From a Distance.' In the book, he explores the questions of exile, diaspora and zionism, and how jewish identity today has been shaped by the previous generations' responses to these questions. He ponders about the future of Jewish life and invites us to rethink our current moment through religious and political resources from the Jewish tradition.
