Film Screening of 'MARTYR', Directed by Mazen Khaled

The Middle Eastern Studies is pleased to host a special film screening of Martyr, directed by Mazen Khaled, with an introduction by Tarek El-Ariss, Chair of Middle Eastern Studies at Dartmouth.

Martyr tells the poignant story of "a young man's tragic death at Beirut's seaside, causing his friends to grapple with loss and to partake in his community's rites and ceremonies, exposing the city's schisms and society's faultlines." The film has been written by Samm Haillay and Mazen Khaled and starrs Carol Abboud, Hadi Bou Ayash, and Mostafa Fahs.

Following the film screening, there will be a special Q&A with the director, Mazen Khaled. 

The event is open to the public.
